Vintage 40's Catalina California Poppy Hand print Celanese Rayon Swimsuit Bathing Suit sz 38. This is one of the best suits we have seen in a while. The 'California Poppy' Hand print is bright and crisp. The print covers the front bodice creating a modesty panel and is also at the bust. The side seams and under bust seams are all done in a fagoting stitch. The black of the suit is a black stretch Celanese rayon. The suit ties in the back and also has a tie that starts at the center bust and goes behind the neck to tie halter style or attach at the back bodice. The metal attachments also have the Catalina flying fish logo. There is a back metal zipper with inner placket. The leg openings are elasticized. The bust, front and gusset are lined. Bust is not padded. The fabric is labeled under the front modesty panel. The Made by none other than Catalina. Size 38 weight 149-155. Suit is in excellent vintage condition with just a slight musty smell.
