Vintage 1950's Catalina Wave Stripe Cotton Swimsuit Bathing Suit size 16/38. Label also reads weight 140/155. Cute Catalina Swimsuit has elastic smocked or ruched side panels, a back metal zipper with inner hook and eye placket and adjustable buttoned shoulder straps. The shoulder straps button at the front and back so can be worn in a variety of ways, strapless, halter neck style, crossed in back or just straight over the shoulders. The bust is lined but not padded and has added boning for support. The bust is gathered with small pleats at the front and fitted through a middle loop so to look like a bow bust. The side panel print runs vertically while the front and back of suit the stripes run horizontally. There is a front modesty panel. The front, bust, gusset and derriere areas are lined. Fabric is cotton. Elastic gathering gives this suit the stretch it needs. Shows large on my mannequin. The swimsuit is in excellent condition, mild discoloration to the bust lining only. Perfect for the long torso gal.
